In 2016, I wrote Profit Yourself Healthy to help business owners earn more and worry less. Today, as a commercial realtor working closely with business owners, I also encourage them to read Built to Sell by John Warrillow because it changes how owners think about value long before a sale is on the table. I regularly see good, profitable businesses struggle to sell because they rely too heavily on the owner, lack systems, or have unpredictable income. Warrillow’s framework, along with the assessment tool I use, helps owners clearly see where value is being built—and where it’s leaking.
